Mainland Exploration Contest - Saturday, 1:00 pm

This is a 'find and post' contest, where boards will be scattered across the game, one at a time. Players will have 20 minutes to find each board and post on it. Each post is a point, points garner exp and gold. There may also be prizes for first to arrive.

Note that this contest is for one player, one character, no multis allowed. Locking other players out of a board or being obnoxious will result in complete explusion from the contest, so be nice and don't be a jerk. Following someone unasked is also grounds for disqualification.

If very few people find the board, extra hints may be given before the time expires.

Top explorers, based on first arrivals to the locations:

The first exploration target

In a Debris Room.
Piles of rubbish and various flotsam have collected here. They must have washed in with you and previous users of the entrance you just found. You pick a scrap of something soggy off of you and stand up to survey your surroundings. South you see some dark cavern opening up.
This location was in a cave in the Thalenwood Forest.

Winners:

The second exploration target

Repulsive bathroom
This has got to be the most vile scene you have ever set eyes upon. The small privy is overloaded with waste. The odor is enough to send Thantos screaming to his mommie. You feel very sick to your stomach and wish to leave.
This location was in the northwestern Ralnoth slums.

Winners:

The third exploration target

Wandering around in the woods.
You could easily lose yourself in here if you're not careful. The lack of a defined path makes you tire much faster, making you wonder how anyone could possibly live here, and hunt here regularly.
This location was in the territory contested by the western Hill Giants and the Firbolgs.

Winners:

The fourth exploration target

Before a small cottage
The cobblestone path leads to this cottage, which seems to have been newly painted. It is a beautiful white, but the trees surrounding it hide the building effectively from the rest of the world. Small glass windows show out the front, and a door with a metal handle marks the entrance. To the west lie great heaps and hills of rock, stepping sharply upward toward the top of the arbor cliffs towering overhead. To the east, the cobblestones continue, leading from this apparant safe haven back into the forest of the real world.
This location was just east of the city of Ralnoth, in the nearby light forest. The cottage in question belonged to Wahil the Hermit.

Winners:

The final exploration target

Nearing a village
To the west is a dense jungle. To the east, a wooden guardrail marks the edge of a ten-foot drop into the ocean. To the south appears to be a primitive village in the jungle. To the north is more path.
This location was on the shore of the southern ocean, on the far southeastern edge of the mainland.

Level 19 Sloe Exploration Contest - Saturday, 7:00 pm

This is a 'find and post' contest, where boards will be scattered across the Island of Sloe, one at a time.

The belltower
The upper level of the church is a beautiful sight. It is an octogonal room, and a large stained-glass window is set into each wall facing a cardinal direction. A giant copper bell hangs from the ceiling, surrounded by a halo of glowing balls that light up and reflect off of the bell. The glass casts its multi-colored hues all about the room, adding a rainbow of colors to the radiant splendor. Despite the grandeur, the belltower appears to be infrequently used. There is quite a bit of dust and more than a few cobwebs.
Winners:

The second exploration target

Wandering between the graves.
The graveyard appears to be in shambles. Tombstones are lying about in ruin. Some are so old or broken you can no longer read who is buried there.

A small trail wanders through the graveyard.
Winners:

The third exploration target

A dusty, cracked marble fountain
The gravel path splits here to form a loop around this large fountain. The years have taken their toll on the fountain, which is beginning to crumble. Small holes dot the basin where chunks of stone have fallen out, and the small amount of water that goes through the fountain dribbles out onto the ground. A small hut stands to the east.
Winners:

The fourth exploration target

A murky stream
The stream cascades in a series of small waterfalls from the south, flowing down to the north, towards the beach and ocean beyond. The water is very brown and smells foul, like swamp gas. Ferns, cattails and mosses grow abundantly along the banks, between the rocks of this hilly country.
Winners:

The final exploration target

The beach
The forest ends at a narrow strip of beach and rolling water of the ocean. The shore is remarkably free of debris -- no driftwood, no seashells, no dead fish or stones.

Level 29 Archais Exploration Contest - Saturday, 10:00 pm

This is a 'find and post' contest, where boards will be scattered across the Island of Archais, one at a time.

Top of the rise.
On this mound grows a single tree, which looks like a beacon in the darkest of nights. The leaves are lush green, and the bark has an almost blue haze. Sighing in relief you take off your boots and let your feet dry in the air. The air, for that matter, has an almost sweet scent to it, like in spring just before winter. You notice an apple growing on a limb just in reach. Plucking the apple you take a bite. Sleep engulfs you like a wave crashing over a rock in its path. The wind is deafening. As you fall, disembodied heads fly by you with great speed. Those that you can make out are of your friends and family. Each head is greeting you with a sick and twisted smile. You awake with a start. Then you realize that you're kneeling over your weapon and were preparing to take your own head.
Winners:

The second exploration target

A brightly lit hallway
The lights overhead are harsh and cold, and are not quite like anything you have ever seen before. The entire hallway is lit by brightly glowing panels set into the ceiling. Unlike normal florescent lights, these panels emit a solid, continuous glow from the apparently smooth surface. The hallway leads on north and south, with doors littering the walls at random places.
An extra clue: you don't need to pass any aggro mobs to get to the checkpoint. Also, the checkpoint is technically not located on the island itself, but since it can only be reached from the island of Archais, it counts.

Winners:

The third exploration target

Inside a ruined building
This used to be a small hut or house with stone walls. The stones that remain standing are cemented together with a weak, sandy mortar. Looking over the walls and standing on the shattered wooden roof at your feet you can see fields in various directions, as long untended as this house has been empty. A mostly intact wooden door leads out to the north.
Winners:

The fourth exploration target

Following the path.
North and south, east and west, all blur on this twisting turning path to nowhere. You can't remember if you had a destination in mind when you started out here, all you can remember is trees, endless variations of trees, and a glowing stone...
Winners:

The final exploration target

In the wet part of the airbox
This portion of the airbox is almost completely deserted. One small boy is playing in the wet air looking so happy. Looking at his pants you notice that he is the cause of the air being so wet.

Top explorers, based on first arrivals to the locations:

The first exploration target

A shallow pond
This muck-rimed hole smells like a bad batch of vinegar. Rotted tree stumps line the edge of the water. A thin layer of grey-green scum coats the surface of the water, in which tiny shapes can be seen squirming.
Winners:

The second exploration target

Between the graves.
The ground seems to make a strange crackling noise with every step you take. You're not sure it's just dried leaves crunching underfoot, or maybe the sound of bones crumbling to dust under the onslaught of your weight upon them? There isn't really any path here, but there are certain directions that look as if you'll be stepping on a few less toes.. or heads!
Winners:

The third exploration target

A shallow cave
The side of the hill is bare rock, in which is cleft this shallow cave. The floor is sandy with a few larger stones scattered about at random. A few hardy grasses grow around the entrance. There are some larger stones at the back of the cave.
Winners:

The fourth exploration target

A Stalagmite Forest
You take the plunge off of the wooden bridge and find yourself stuck between several stalagmites. It hurts to move much, and you cannot see any way short of magic to escape this predicament.
Winners:

The final exploration target

A path on the clouds.
You are standing in the clouds, but on an actual dirt walkway leading to the house in the clouds. The feeling of walking on solid ground on the clouds is disorienting. The front yard is to your north and the top of the beanstalk is to your south. There is a cloudy fog to east and west that is somehow impassible, but you wouldn't want to fall off the clouds, would you?

Mainland Exploration Contest - Sunday, 7:00 pm

This is a 'find and post' contest, where boards will be scattered across the game, one at a time. Players will have 20 minutes to find each board and post on it. Each post is a point, points garner exp and gold. There may also be prizes for first to arrive.

If very few people find the board, extra hints may be given before the time expires.

Top explorers, based on first arrivals to the locations:

The first exploration target

On the narrowing path.
The path remains narrow here, with barely sufficient room for a person with a pack to stand without overbalancing. There are clouds above and below now, and there is nothing to indicate how far it is to either the Veld below or the top of the mountain trail. The edges of the path appear unstable here, and you decide to proceed carefully.
Winners:

The second exploration target

A rocky enclave
The ground here is covered with pea gravel that crunches loudly underfoot. Many larger stones are also cast about in no particular order. A strange circle has been scraped into the gravel, about three feet across. A dozen magical runes are inscribed around the edge.
Winners:

The third exploration target

A rock, jutting out over the Greenhole
This is a small rock, approximately four feet wide and four feet long. It branches out from under the rock of the cliff above here. It's about ten feet off of the water.
Winners:

The fourth exploration target

The edge of the world
This isn't really the edge of the world, it's not really even an edge. The view is stupendous, as you can see the rolling hills and valleys for miles in all directions. The ground seems almost holy, with short, dense grass all about. Trees sprout up all around, wherever the ground slopes quickly away. The overall impression is that this place was made solely for the purpose of looking out into the world. To the north the ridge slopes gently up toward the top of the top of a large mountain northwest of you. South, east, and west the hill slopes gently at first, then descends quickly into small valleys all around you.
Winners:

The final exploration target

Under the south-east tower
The watchtower looms over you. Small windows can be seen higher up, and you suspect you see movement there. A narrow staircase leads into the tower, and the heavy wooden door that used to protect the staircase lies shattered on the ground, its heavy iron bindings twisted and broken. The tower itself seems to have suffered no other damage, save the blood stains on the grey stone.
