The message is in reply to dentin's post on the developers blog re: trading.

I'm not sure i like the idea of players having business accounts, I can't really put my finger on why though.

I'm just visualizing some of our big shot players selling 10mil gold to someone else for 100 bucks.  That player proceeds to cut it up into 1mil chunks and sells them for 12 bucks each.  Some other players cuts up his share into 100k chunks and sells them for a buck fifty per 100k.

Sounds like the American way right? except the only people I see being abused by this system are the new players, who are buying 100k at a time for a buck fifty.  They probably don't have the levels, knowledge, or skills required to run their own gold, so if they want to compete they will have to buy their own gold.  Some of these new players might not like this system of buying their gold/eq/ in the game, and feel that it is unfair that others do it.  As a result they will not be able to compete with other players their level and may not enjoy playing the game as much.

I guess in a perfect scenario Alter Aeon would be completely cut off from real world currency, but that isn't practical.

I dunno what exactly should be done, but i don't think a trading system that uses real world currency shouldn't be instituted, because to some extent it will encourage the use of real world currency.

My plan going into it was to start really conservative, and open things up slowly as we understand the effects.  I too have a lot of reservations about outside currency distorting the market.  For now I was just going to have the system be 'input only' in terms of cash.
