Now, for other stuff:  Since you are a mage, I would learn how to cast
spells first off.  You have the spell 'magic missile' already - you should
learn how to use that to help you kill stuff and get more experience.
The way to cast the spell is to type:
cast 'magic missile' monstername

or, you can abbreviate it like most other people do:
c m monstername

where the 'c' stands for 'cast', and  'm' stands for 'magic missle'.

Your magic missile spell can be really handy when fighting.  What's also
cool is that once you cast it, you can use the '!' command to repeat it
over and over without having to type in the entire casting command.
